I think this applies as much to the early UX-ers as it does to some of us who have been doing this for over a decade!! Portfolio and case studies for most seasoned designers, design studios and product companies are generic focussing (quite fashionably) on pencil sketches, "stickies on the wall" (haha), crisp mockups and animation teasers.

All of us know that a lot goes into building a successful product, website or app and very rarely is that journey linear., instead it involves multiple rounds of soft launches, testing, iterations, pivots and re-testing. This is the approach and mindset that I am most interested in discovering when meeting a potential recruit or partner, not what the finished product looked like.
