Another "principle" I swear by, is to take complete ownership of all content - images, videos, headlines, microcopy, error states and everything else, DURING and NOT as an after thought of putting together killer wireframes or mockups.

So often I see designers focussing a lot of their attention on core functions or getting really worked up with the fonts, the colors, the content, the flows but are often laid back when it comes to copy and content. However, it’s often these micro details on the smallest elements that maketh the product!
